The Hornady 230gr ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag – eXpanding) is a .338 calibre hunting projectile designed for consistent accuracy and controlled expansion across a wide range of impact velocities.
The ELD-X features Hornady's Heat Shield polymer tip, which resists deformation caused by aerodynamic heating. Its secant ogive profile and boat-tail design contribute to a high ballistic coefficient.
The projectile incorporates a precision-swaged lead core, an AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) jacket for consistent concentricity, and an InterLock ring designed to help retain the core and jacket during penetration.
